We aim to provide opportunities for law students to be engaged with the Centre to be able to get practical legal experience whilst completing their law degree.

The Gold Coast Community Legal Centre tries to make a positive impact on the future legal profession by ensuring up and coming graduates can gain first-hand experience before they enter into their chosen area of legal practice. To help facilitate this objective of ours, the Centre has engaged with universities and established working partnerships revolving around providing the opportunity for law students to be formally placed at the Centre.

These working relationships mean that students and graduates can gain experience dealing with real world issues and clients in a legal environment. This enables them to better understand their chosen legal field and gain insight into the industry that other law students and graduates may not achieve until they leave university. Over the years, the relationships with these universities have grown and the programs and structures put in place have developed and successfully created the desired outcome as students are gaining experience in a community legal centre while learning the values of working within the community.
