Our Solicitors can provide preliminary advice on property settlement matters only. They are unable to draft property settlement documents or sign certificates of independent legal advice.
If we are unable to give advice or assist on any of the above matters, we will make appropriate referrals to organisations that may be able to provide that legal service.
We understand that family law issues can be complex and emotionally-charged matters. It is important to our Centre that we provide Gold Coasters with services that match a significant need in our community. Since 2016, the Centre has employed dedicated family law and domestic violence solicitors who is able to advise on all of the above areas of family law and child protection matters. They may also provide urgent casework assistance (not legal representation) subject to our Centre’s capacity and the approval of the Centre’s family law supervisor. By having a specific team of dedicated family law solicitors who only assist within this area of law, we can ensure they are current and up to date with all changes to the Family Law system and receive tailored training to assist with sensitive and vulnerable matters, taking a trauma informed approach to all assistance provided.
